"What you see may not be everything."
당신이 보는것이 전부가 아닐지도 모릅니다.
나의 작업은 평범한 일상의 서사 중 한 장면을 담고 있지만, 눈에 보여지는 것 이면의 숨겨진 이야기에 집중할 때 관람객으로 하여금 합리적인 네러티브에 도달할 수 있도록 안내합니다.
관람자의 스테레오타입에 따라 나의 작업은 평범하게 보일수도 있고 또는 특별하게 보일 수도 있습니다. 이는 양면성을 가진 우리의 일상을 재조명하여 보이지 않는 일상의 숨겨진 이면에 대해 사유할 수 있는 시간을 확보하고,스테레오타입에 대한 고찰을 이끌어내 위함입니다. 그래서 일상을 바라보는 시각을 넓혀 미래를 바라볼 수 있는 힘을 갖게 되길 바라는 마음이 담겨있습니다.
적당히 평범한 일상에서는 작은 불빛이 가치없어 보일지 모르지만 완벽한 어두움 속에서는 작은 빛 조차 찬 란하게 느껴질 수 있듯이, 나의 작업이 일상 속 어두움을 비추는 작은 불빛이 되길 소망합니다.
**Artist Statement
"What you see may not be everything."
My art works convey a scene from everyday life where despair and hope coexist. They guide viewers to reach a rational narrative by focusing on another story beyond what meets the eye.
Just as ordinary life can be a moment of wandering in the darkness for someone, I aim to shed light on the dual nature of everyday life through my work, providing a contemplative space for exploring stereotypes and hidden aspects of the ordinary.
In moderately ordinary daily life, a small glimmer may seem worthless, but even in perfect darkness, even a small light can feel dazzling. I hope that my work can become a small beacon illuminating the darker aspects of everyday life.
